Secrets and Lies part 8

When last we saw Aaliyah, and Fudjya, they had just finished reporting into Bardo, when Aaliyah asked what their next step was to be. Bardo, however, told her he no longer had need of her, and that she should get out of his face...
“What is that supposed to mean?” Aaliyah asked shocked at his rudeness.
“What does it sound like?” He replied in a very matter of fact kind of way. “I am done with you.”
“Done with me?” Aaliyah repeated.
“Yes. Should I repeat it also?” He asked as he raised his eyebrows.
“I thought we were supposed to discover what happened to Master Blood?” She asked, her patience wearing thin.
“I do not recall ever discussing Master Blood with you. I asked you to investigate the Snake Cave. You have accomplished that. What else do you want from me?” He asked.
“I want you to stop being such a rude bastard!” Shard said to herself.
“I want you to stop being such a rude bastard!” Aaliyah said, agreeing with Shard's sentiments. Fudjya looked at Aaliyah, shocked she would say such a thing. Shard began to laugh.
“Didn't I say get out of my face?” Bardo said unaffected by Aaliyah's rude remark. “Get out of my face, and off my property, before I call a guard over to have you removed.” He said as he turned, and walked towards his small storefront.
“Not so fast!” Fudjya said before he entered. “Where's my money you promised me?” Bardo threw a medium sized bag of gold coins at Fudjya, who caught it.
“Now get lost!” Bardo said as he entered the small store.
“Whoa!” Fudjya said still shocked. “You almost sounded like Gorpi for a second there.”
“Well, maybe she was right about him.” Aaliyah said as she clenched her fists.
“What do we do now?” Fudjya asked.
“I do not know.” Aaliyah replied. “I think it's best if we meet up with Erana. Besides, if Novice Shan knew about the Ice Block, then I am sure the guilds must know something too.”
“I don't know about the whole guild thing.” Fudjya said. “There is not a lot of gold in it I hear.”
“I think we should discuss this with Gorpi.” Aaliyah said.
“Okay, I have to send some gold back home. While I do that, you go and meet with Gorpi, an then I will meet both of you back at The Wounded Camp.” Fudjya said as he reached over and kissed her.
“Okay!.” She said as he pulled away. “I will see you soon then.”
As he watched her leave, he instantly regretted the kiss. He begins to walk towards the Post Officer when he hears a familiar voice from behind.
“Fudjya! Stop! I love you and I will not lose you again...”
Back at The Wounded Camp, Aaliyah has just arrived. She quickly makes her way to the mysterious man's tent, and opens it to find there is no one inside. She runs over to the Apothecary, who has just finished treating a patient.
“Excuse me.” She said quickly. “Could you please tell me what happened to the Gentleman who was in the first tent?”
“The one you brought in earlier today?” He asked. “He disappeared.”
“Disappeared?” She asked.
“Yes, he must have had a teleportation stone concealed on him.” The Apothecary replied.
“He was stark naked when I found him. He had nothing on him.” She said.
“Well, one moment I had just checked on him, and the next time I came to see he was gone. It happens a lot around here.”
“What about Gorpi?” Aaliyah asked.
“The tamer?” He replied. “I saw that one leave. I asked her where she was going, and she told me to mind my own business. Quite an attitude on that one.”
“What the hell is going on?” Aaliyah thought to herself.
Meanwhile, when last we saw Erana she had just departed to Green Scarp, to hit her father up for hush money. As she arrived to the Piedmont of Green Scarp, she got off her tiger mount, shrunk him down, and placed him within her Lucky Bag. As she made her way to the small square, she is approached by a familiar, bird-like figure.
“Excuse me Miss, I am named Cartalean, and I have been wounded in a recent battle. I would greatly appreciate it if...” The creature began to say.
“Beat it Bird face, I am to busy to waste my time on the likes of you.” She interrupted as she walked right past him. She quickly made her way to the Center Square, and straight to where her father always stands.
“Erana? Longbrow's beard it is you!” He said with a joyous smile.
“Father, I come bearing bad news.” She said as she looked down. “Mother was at Laurel Mountain when it was attacked. I do not know what happened to her.”
“I know my dear. I am truly sorry. I loved your mother very much.” He said as he also looked down.
“I need something from you father.” She said as she looked up, and deeply into his eyes. “I need Two hundred gold pieces by the end of the day.”
“Two hundred gold pieces?” He said shocked. “What do you need that kind of gold for.”
“I am in trouble father. I cannot tell you what happened. All I can say is if I do not find the gold, a very good friend of mine will go to jail.” She said as she once again looked down.
“Erana, you know I love you, but I am hardly a rich man anymore.” He said. “Things are not the way they used to be. I work and live here at the monastery. All money, or food I get, I give to the monks.”
“Oh, and if it was your precious Elana, why do I get the feeling you would magically find the money.” She said as she looked up again, this time with anger in her eyes.
“You know that is not true Erana, I am telling...” He began to say.
“Yes, you are always trying to tell me things father.” She interrupted. “Sometimes I need more than words!”
“Erana I...” He once again began to say.
“No! I was stupid to come here. Goodbye father. You will never see me again!” She said as she ran back towards the Piedmont. What she did not see was that someone had followed her.
“Not so fast big sister! You and I have a score to settle...”
